July Enlightenments & Offerings

One of the most exciting reoccurring events is a visit from our friend, Frances Palmer, with her gorgeous collection of ceramics in tow. It is always inspirational to compose in her vessels, whether it be stems or plant material, cookies or canapés. There’s still some space available in her workshop on July 11th, if you’d like to learn about composition from a master, in both floral design and photography. Students are asked to bring their own phone or camera to work with.

July means warm temperatures that bring out the plein air artists. One of our favorite painters, Beth Rundquist will be holding two workshops at the end of the month: one is about developing your color palette and the other is a plein air painting workshop at our sister property Wardbrook Farm.

Gardens in July are approaching their best. They provide us with so much beauty, inspiration and nourishment. Get out there and enjoy it while you can. Document it so in the dark of winter you can warm your soul and look forward to another season.
